Right?! There are a whole bunch of us at various price points. I always advise people to meet with a few different photographers, and make sure you choose someone you want to hang out with all day on your wedding day! Photography style is most important, but personalities are a close second. I believe you get what you pay for, and I try to make stand-out photographs that will exceed their initial value as time goes on!
"Ryan! When it comes to wedding photos, there are too many choices, too many price points! How do we choose a photographer?"
You’re good! I’ve had plenty of guests with cameras at the weddings I’ve worked. I usually touch base with them as early as possible and explain what I need from them to get my best pictures, and how we can work together so they can get some fun pics too.
"My uncle is a photographer, and we probably can’t stop him from taking pics throughout the day. Is that ok?"
Unfortunately, I've heard this too many times! Fear not! We’ll go over all the plans, details, and family photo shot lists well in advance of your wedding day. I won’t need anything from you, so you’re free to just enjoy the day while I document it. If we run into difficulties, I’m here to help keep everyone calm, and reassure you that I’ve seen it all before, and the pics will still turn out amazing!

As a same-sex couple, we weren't sure how different vendors would feel about working on our wedding. From the first interaction, Ryan was welcoming and inclusive - how amazing! We had an intricate wedding day with high church, a theater performance, and the traditional dinner/dancing/toasts. Ryan rolled with all the details, capturing each one. Even better? He and his assistant faded into the background ... our guests commented that they never even noticed a photographer being there, never felt blocked or intruded upon. My husband and I are already trying to come up with new things for Ryan to photograph (and this from a girl who normally HATES having her photo taken.) All of our friends and family love how they look in the photos, so many likes, shares, profile pictures, Christmas letters, mantels and bed-side tables now feature Ryan's work. I can't stand being the center of attention, and usually dislike taking a series of photos...Ryan somehow not only made me feel comfortable, but I ended up having a really great time on our wedding day walking around Chicago taking photos. He came up with interesting photo ideas on the spot and was also a pleasure to be around. Obviously, the most important part of it all is to be happy with the final product. Ryan captured a lot of candid moments, and some of our posed photos will soon be iconic photos in our collection that we'll be looking at for years. I cannot recommend Ryan highly enough. I was the venue manager for a hotel downtown Chicago that had Ryan Moore Photography on their preferred vendor list, stalked his website and instragram and knew he was the photographer I wanted - as an added bonus he is a wonderful person as well! My husband was super nervous about being photographed for an entire day, but after the first 10 minutes of our engagement session (which was really like hanging out with an old friend that just happens to have a camera in front of their face while talking to you) he was convinced as well. My husband and I found Ryan Moore Photography, and after meeting him in person, we immediately knew he was our photographer. Ryan was everything we needed and so much ... Moore (sorry I couldn't resist!). Neither of us are very photogenic or used to being in the spotlight, but Ryan put us at ease throughout the whole day. He is professional, personal, charming, and when we got the photos back we were speechless. Totally blown away by the talent and range of looks. Our staged photos looked anything but staged, the wide shots were stunning, our guests looked fabulous (and almost all of them made appearances in our photos), the details were all captured with incredible care - Ryan missed nothing. Ryan and his team are amazing. From the first time my husband and I met with Ryan, we knew he’d be a great fit for us. Our engagement session with Ryan was a highlight of our wedding planning process. In addition to providing us with stunning pictures of the two of us in some of Chicago’s most beautiful locations, the engagement session was a great opportunity for Ryan to get to know us and for us to get comfortable posing for these sort of photos. On the day of the wedding, Ryan and his second shooter, Jillian, were a calming and reassuring presence during the preparation portion of the day, and from Jillian tearing up as she snapped photos of my parents and me waiting to walk down the aisle to Ryan capturing silly late night shots of us on the dance floor, they seemed to delight in the key moments of our event right alongside us.
